Empowering Access to Education

In the Maasai Mara, the future of young girls is often shaped by traditions and societal expectations that can limit their opportunities.

The aim of the Mlima Foundation is to uplift and empower the next generation of young women and girls through education.

For many young Maasai girls, the road to education is not always an easy one. Early marriages, traditional gender roles, and a lack of resources can make accessing education a distant dream.

Education is more than just a pathway to knowledge—it is the key to independence, self-sufficiency, and equality. For Maasai girls, it provides the tools to challenge stereotypes, expand opportunities, and create positive change. Educating girls not only empowers them to pursue their dreams, but it also has a ripple effect, uplifting families and entire communities.
